Staying Safe in a Digital World
April 23, 2026
Dear Friend,
The world we live in today looks very different than it did years ago. So much of what we do now happens online, often without us even thinking about it. And while that convenience has made life easier in many ways, it also means we need to be a little more aware of how we protect ourselves.
Emails, text messages, and even phone calls can sometimes come from people who aren’t who they say they are—something many of us have likely encountered at one time or another. That doesn’t mean we need to be afraid—it just means we need to be a little more mindful.
Taking a moment to pause—before clicking a link, answering a message, or sharing personal information—can prevent problems that are much harder to sort out later. If you’re ever unsure how to proceed, it’s always okay to pause. Don’t click on a link or share information right away. Instead, take a moment to call the business using a trusted phone number and verify—just to be certain. A little extra caution can make all the difference in keeping ourselves safe.
It’s simply one more way we look after ourselves as life continues to change. And like so many things at this stage of life, a little awareness can bring a lot of peace of mind.
Until next time, stay well, stay safe, and check on someone if you can.
Be well,
Emma
